What is Infrared?

Infrared is a band of light that we perceive as heat. Sun produces most of its energy output in the infrared segment of the spectrum. Infrared light rays are used to heat your body without having to heat the air through a process called conversion.

Benefits of Infrared Saunas

Infrared rays penetrate the body over 1-1/2 inches which creates a deep heating effect in the muscle tissue and internal organs without putting too much stress to our heart.

The body reacts to the increased heating through our natural cooling process of perspiration. Acid and waste residue like toxins, sodium, alcohol, nicotine, cholesterol and heavy metals are removed from the cells (especially zinc, lead, nickel, cadmium, etc.) through the perspiration process as well as the pores of the skin opening and eliminating the waste products. The skin sheds off old skin cells, leaving it with a glow, clean, and an improved skin tone and elasticity.

The deep penetration of the heat also stimulates the heart by sending more blood to the body cells to increase blood circulation which improves many health symptoms you may have. Clinical studies support that the health benefits of infrared therapy can be used as a method of healing.

Light Therapy

Infrared saunas offer LED Light Therapy as an option to enhance your sauna experience. LED light therapy has been shown to have positive healing and rejuvenating effects on the skin and can impact your mood, depression and any other conditions you may have.

Benefits

Lower Blood Pressure

Studies found saunas to lower diastolic and systolic blood pressure. Infrared sauna therapy is both safe and effective in recovering damaged blood vessels and improving heart functions, suggesting regular sessions offer a preventive role for heart disease, especially in patients with high blood pressure, diabetes or cholesterol. Infrared sauna therapy reduces blood pressure by dilating blood vessels and decreasing the volume of their inner lining, thus, increasing circulation to promote healthy blood pressure.

Weight Loss

If you can maintain a healthy weight, you can increase your likelihood of a longer, healthier life. Results from studies indicate that infrared saunas are beneficial for lowering weight and waist circumference in just a 3-month period. Another study showed that 30-minute infrared sauna sessions can burn up to 600 calories. As the body works to cool itself in the infrared saunas, there is a big increase in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate, causing the body to burn more calories.

Detoxification

Sweating is the body’s safe and natural way to heal and stay healthy. Infrared saunas are designed for deep, detoxifying sweat. The leading detoxification principal is that illnesses can be caused by the build-up of a toxic substance. Ridding the body of toxins can help relieve symptoms, prevent illness and increase overall health. Infrared sauna usage is the most effective methods of inducing a detoxifying sweat.

Pain Relief

One of the most beneficial reasons to use an infrared sauna is the natural pain relief associated with its use. Infrared heat works by penetrating joints, muscles and tissues, increasing circulation and speeding oxygen flow. For years, doctors have recommended infrared saunas because of proven relief from sports injury, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, arthritis and other chronic pain conditions. In a study with infrared heat, they determined that LED technology allows for a deep penetration of tissue and increased cell growth from the inside. Study also shows that the use of infrared heat therapy helped the production of white blood cells to alleviate inflammation and reduce swelling, two important factors in easing bodily pain.

Improved Circulation

Using the Infrared Sauna is like giving yourself a passive cardio workout whenever you need it! Heating muscles with infrared rays produce an increase in blood flow similar to exercise. Blood flow can rise from a normal rate of 5-7 quarts per minute. Regular sauna use has been shown to stimulate blood flow, even after your sauna session is done. A cardio has never been so relaxing.

Cell Health

Stay healthy with the natural preventive strategies of heating technology which aids in cell health, muscle recovery and overall immunity defense. Infrared therapy stimulates the circulatory system, causing the heart to beat more vigorously and blood vessels to dilate, which help cleanse the circulatory system and more fully oxygenate the body’s cells. Better blood circulation means more toxins flow from the cellular level to the skin’s surface to improve cell health, aid in muscle recovery and strengthen the immune system.

Clears Cellulite

Infrared saunas help clear ugly cellulite, the gel-like lumps of fat, water and debris trapped in pockets beneath the skin.

Skin Purification

In just 12 weeks, the improvements in skin appearance show a reduction in wrinkles, as well as improved overall skin tone, including smoothness, elasticity, clarity and firmness appears using the Infrared Sauna.

Relaxation and Stress Relief

Infrared saunas have been designed to encourage a lifetime of use through the purest form of relaxation and stress reduction. Cortisol-a “fight or flight” hormone produced by the body increases with stress, raising heart rate and blood pressure and leading to the deposit of excess calories in the mid-section. Scientific evidence shows that infrared therapy helps the body maintain healthy levels of cortisol. Through the use of soothing heat technology, they deliver the most therapeutic infrared heat per square inch (up to 99% efficient) to help you relieve stress, ease muscles and fully relax.
